This was another winter project for my craft booth next Christmas. Repurposing cans is beneficial to the environment as well as a lot of fun to do. Of course, they can be useful in so many ways. In the bathroom to store qtips, bath bombs, holders for combs, brushes, etc. They work well on the office desk for paperclips, rubber bands, pencil and pen holders, snacks such as candy and nuts. Store USB cables out of site and tangle free. They make great jewelry containers as well.
Think gifts! Fill them with fun gift items, add a bow and gift tag and you’re all set. I’ll have these suitable for Christmas gifts filled with cookies, candy, and nuts for my booth.
Only the outside is decorated. I sterilize the inside and leave free of paint, or any other product so they are food safe. They contained food such as fruits, vegetables, or nuts, etc. I grind and sand off any sharp edges left by the can opener for safety. The outside is coated with and acrylic finish so it can be damp wiped. Most have a cork pad on the bottom of the base to protect furniture and make slide proof. I design all my own labels which is the most fun part for me.
Anyway, just another day at Cottonwood Court creating something fun and useful. Do something fun with cans and keep as many as possible out of the landfills.
