This photo was taken in Arizona when the cacti was in bloom. The desert may look a little bleak to some but there is a lot of beauty there, especially, when it’s blooming.

A dry yucca seed pod. Love the texture of these. They can be added to dry floral arrangements and last for years. They can be dyed or spray painted, or stained.

This photo taken in Canyon de Chelly. Look this area up sometime and read the interesting history of this canyon. There are some cliff dwellings and very unique scenery.

Angel Peak near Aztec, New Mexico. Another great photo op for earth and rock formations. The best time to visit for photos is early morning or evening when the light and shadows are at play.

Cody, Wyoming. This is part of the old town. Truely western. Some of the buildings are open to the public and have a lot of old furnishings and history.

Top photo, Shiprock near Farmington, New Mexico. Bottom photo, some interesting sand rock formations between Aztec, New Mexico and the Navajo Lake. There are dozens of arches in this area which are fun to hunt for. Information on the arches can be found at the Aztec Ruins Visitors Center.

Cascade Creek in Colorado.

Reflections – a favorite of mine to photograph. This one is near Dulce, New Mexico. The water must be perfectly clear and still to get this kind of photo.

San Juan River

A meadow near Delores, Colorado.
From deserts to mountains, south to north, east to west, lots of photo ops. Whether a day trip or road trip, I’m equipped with my camera and looking for a really good photo. Hope you will see nature as a work of art and capture it if you can.
