This is as wild as it gets. Yes, we have a lot of wildlife that visits us from time to time. We have Mule deer that migrate in and out of our yard. They especially like the back yard. No one bothers them back there and it’s a good place to browse or take a nap. Along with this buck was five or six does.

Twin fawns, so cute, are enjoying my lilies and mulberry tree. As you can see, the flowers have already been munched away. Losing a few flowers or leaves is the price of living among the wild animals. I’d rather have them here to enjoy and, after all, we moved into their territory.

This visitor stays close to the creek in our back yard. He seems to catch quite a few fish that come in from the river, mostly trout.

At times we have 40 to 50 of these that roam freely. They are good to have around not only for entertainment but also for eating bugs. They are quite funny to watch, and very pretty. I’ll be getting some photos later during mating season when the toms are strutting and showing their stuff.

As time goes by I’ll have more photos as I get them. That “kodak” moment is tricky. Some of the wildlife we see here at Cottonwood Court: Beavers, Muskrats, Fox, Cayotes, Skunks, Squirrels, Pheasants, Doves, Geese, Ducks, and at certain times of the year we have bears, mountain lions, and bobcats.

That’s what we call “wild life” at Cottonwood Court!
